This advanced sonography course will provide OB/GYN ultrasound practitioners with insights into the screening, diagnosis, and management of
fetal anomalies via 2-D, 3-D, 4-D, Doppler, & invasive testing. There will be in-depth focus on fetal echocardiography, Doppler and fetal neu-
rosonology. In addition, one morning session will be devoted to advances in gynecologic ultrasound including the evaluation of patients with pelvic
pain and bleeding.
q GYN ADVANCES: 3-D ultrasound, sonoangiography, the endometrial echo, pelvic masses
q 1st TRIMESTER FETUS: the fetal heart, the central nervous system
q FETAL ASSESSMENT: comprehensive overview of fetal malformations, assessment of fetal well being using growth parameters and
Doppler techniques
q TWO INTERACTIVE SESSIONS: 1) discussion about fetal aneuploidy markers, 2) debate about whether or not to disclose to the patient the
presence of minor markers
q INTERESTING CASES: The last session of the course will be a compendium of interesting obstetrical cases with audience participation
q CPT CODING: optimizing collections
Delivered by internationally-recognized OB/GYN's and radiologists, all lectures will be illustrated by slides and video clips. Since each topic is
presented in a single theatre, registrants have the opportunity to attend every event. Classroom seating (tables & chairs) will be provided for all.
Attendees will receive a syllabus of all lectures and a self-examination based on the course material. Continental breakfasts, two formal lunch-
eons, and daily morning and afternoon refreshment breaks are all included in the course fee.
Exhibitors of ultrasound equipment, software and books relating to OB/GYN sonography will be present for the duration of the symposium.
Harvard Medical School is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical
education for physicians.
Harvard Medical School designates this educational activity for a maximum of 18 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only
claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This offering also meets the criteria for 18 Formal Learning Cognates of ACOG and 18 CME units of the ARDMS.
Dr. Benacerraf and Dr. Benson will direct a subsequent OB/GYN symposium in Boston in October 5-7, 2012.
